In 1989 Matthew worked on a major piece of restoration – the monastic buildings surrounding Ely Cathedral. These beautiful medieval buildings required a complete overhaul, and Matthew and the team upgraded everything from the floor to the rafters with a mixture of modern and traditional techniques.
